What Is ACID ? 

 

ACID was developed with a very specific purpose. 

To create a bat designed around the demands of the modern player while staying true to the principles of traditional handcrafter bat making.

Built around a short blade long handle configuration. A 5mm reduction creates the closest option to a traditional short handle bat. A 25mm shoulder reduction is full T20 style. ACIDs short blade profile allows more wood to be positioned within the driving area of the bat without compromising pickup or balance.  By redistributing the profile in this way, ACID creates a longer hitting zone across the bat.

Unlike conventional profiles where the largest edge thickness sits lower in the blade, ACID has been designed with its maximum edge thickness positioned higher up the bat. This creates a more balanced pickup and allows the bat to feel faster through the air. 

ACID is not separate from the knowledge and experience of Salix - its built from it. Every bat is shaped using decades of understanding in willow. Pressing and handmade finishing techniques, combined with artisan craftmanship with a modern performance focused philosophy.
